INSURVE

INSURVE, or my headache, is an inspection that all Naval ships go through every 5 years to insure the military and you, the tax payers, get your monies worth. It like all Naval inspections looks at things that you would never imagine. For instance, each and every electrical outlet has to be stenciled "115V AC" (or what ever is appropriate).
My job currently is to go through and find all the improvements we need to do for insurve (like paint on a valve) or work requests for when we pull in for maintence so we can get big jobs done (like replacing the tile in the passage way that 5 thousand people walk on everyday). It has been interesting doing this, but I must admit, that I like taking care of people more that I like to walk around and look for misplaced paint.
I have however been on a few projects that were kinda fun. I had to 'lag' or insulate some pipes. The 'glue' for this is pink. HOT pink......I still hate pink. It was kinda fun though because it was almost like playing with paper meche'. You have to cut the lagging to fit around the insulation that fits around the pipes. Then you have to 'glue' it on. The second to last thing is to cover up the seams. Once this dries you have to paint it........Could I have just used the paint in the first place.
